You’re invited to the 6th ANNUAL NOVA SCOTIA CYCLING SUMMIT

Hello everyone,

Trips For Kids Yarmouth and the Yarmouth and Clare Cycling Summit Committee are very pleased to be hosting the 6th Annual Nova Scotia Cycling Summit on Saturday, 7 May 2011 at the Salmon River Fire Hall in Clare. I have attached the Summit agenda and the Registration information.

Join us at the Summit to hear first hand what positive success stories are happening in all regions of Nova Scotia from those who are making things happen. Learn how you can also improve cycling initiatives in your community, just as other areas across this province have already accomplished wonderful cycling projects.

Our Keynote Speaker is Hans Moor from The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ottawa.

Hans Moor has vast cycling experience and he will speak about the economic impacts on Cycling in The Netherlands. He believes that cycling is not only about enjoying a slower pace of life, but even more a remedy against increasing health and infrastructure cost and a great cost saver in personal finances. Hans will demonstrate that cycling is part of a way of life that the Dutch citizens adopted many years ago and that made the Netherlands the world leader in cycling.

When I confirmed Hans as Keynote Speaker for this Summit he e mailed me right back and stated at that time he was in Holland and at that very moment he was gathering great photos from Holland for this presentation. We all look forward to his presentation.

Please print off the registration form and send in by mail with payment. Early Registration is very helpful for our Summit Organizing Committee to properly plan meals and the days events.

Our theme for this year’s Summit is:

“GEARING UP FOR THE FUTURE OF CYCLING IN NOVA SCOTIA!”

We look forward to meeting you at the summit and please feel free to bring cycling related display materials from your community, organization or cycling club. After the summit we have a scenic bike ride planned and for those who wish there is a Buffet and Social at Cape View Restaurant overlooking magnificent Mavillette Beach as we watch the beautiful sunset over the Bay of Fundy.

See you at the Summit.
